The curtains of the potion chamber closed at a wave of Venus’s hand, Venus Drutman, the eldest of the four daughters of darkness, the most powerful of the four daughters, who were the rulers of the witches council and overseers of the magical land stood beside her cauldron, watching it brew to perfection. She gazed at the blue and green smoke that surfaced from the cauldron.

“You will never believe this Venus!” Jasmine shouted as she stormed into the potion chamber, holding four scrolls tightly to her chest. Venus shook at the sound of her voice that distracted her concentration. “This had better be as serious as your face” Venus scoffed, “This is really serious Venus, I am not playing around” Jasmine said as she glared sternly at her. “Okay then, tell me who peed in your coffee?” said Venus as she opened the curtain with a wave of her hand , the morning sun fell on her face revealing her long brunette hair that complimented her brown eyes on her freckled face, she faced Jasmine who was tall and blonde with piercing blue eyes. Jasmine dropped her scrolls on a nearby wooden stool and said “Rose is in a romantic relationship with a vampire, Ross is a vampire, and he isn’t a mortal”. Venus was almost thrown back by the words that came out of Jasmine’s mouth. She stumbled a little bit before she pulled herself together and said “Jasmine do you know the gravity of you just said?  You have just claimed that Rose, our youngest sister, a daughter of darkness like you has a fiancé who happens to be a vampire”

“Yes!” Jasmine shouted, “A vampire is any sorcerer’s worst enemy, you have claimed that our worst enemy is about to marry our sister, if this is a lie you had better tell me and all will be forgiven!” Venus retorted. “It is not a lie Venus I swear to you, I found seven vials of larisetum in his cloak, and you and I know what that potion is used for, it is used to enable”

“To enable vampires to become day walkers, so that the sun will not burn those blood suckers to ashes” said Venus cutting Jasmine short. Venus paced round the room constantly glaring Jasmine in the eye, hoping that Jasmine will say that she was just lying.“But that doesn’t prove anything, maybe he had it for a reason, do not forget that larisetum is a healing potion for demon blade” Venus said staring back at her potion, her face was flushed, she couldn’t believe her ears. “Yes I know that” said Jasmine “But what is he doing with seven vials of larisetum Venus? And we have not had a battle with demons in 17 years and you know the law Venus, he has to be killed”. Jasmine took a seat right next to the brewing cauldron, “If you need proof I can prove it before the council” she said calmly. Venus turned to stare at her “Have you informed Judith of your discovery” Venus asked? Judith was third older sister of the daughters of darkness. “No I have not” Jasmine replied “I waited to tell you first since you are the oldest. “That’s alright, arrest him, but be careful, shoot him with a vial of vatisium, it weakens all magical creatures, bring him to the council at 8 o’clock then would be his trial, there you shall prove to the council that he is a vampire in a romantic relationship with a witch and an impersonator, which is a crime punishable by death, if he’s guilty I will sentence him to death, if he is not, for your sake I hope Rose is a noble woman”.

Tears ran down Rose’s face as she watched her husband Ross being dragged across the council hall and thrown into the penal cage. She wore a black robe and packed her red hair in a bun. Her sister Judith held her back as she ran towards the cage in an attempt to free her fiancé, “You know you cannot free him, pull yourself together, it will be alright, let’s go and sit down” Judith consoled as she cuddled her sister hard. They both sat down with Venus and Jasmine on pedestals above the council members. Rose shot dirty looks at Jasmine “You filthy whore! You’re an excuse of a sorceress; you’ve never found love in your life so you’re determined to take mine away” she screeched. “Silence!” Venus yelled.

“Today a case has been brought before us, my sister, and your second level leader has accused this man, Ross Genera, a mortal of being a Vampire” Venus announced. The crowd moaned in surprise, “Jasmine, you may state your case”. Jasmine stood up and approached the crowd ,she walked up to the penal cage where Ross was being caged , she pulled his chin up and looked deep into his eyes,  he was breathing heavily with his face flushed with anger. “Are you a vampire Ross Genera?” she asked. Ross took deep breaths before he answered “what would it matter?” he replied “You are on trial here so you better answer me” he turned his face away and refused to talk. She turned to the guards and ordered them to stretch out Ross’s hand. She conjured a knife from thin air and faced the crowd “If he’s a vampire the colour of his blood would be silver” with that she sliced his wrist and to everyone’s surprise his blood was silver. 

“No!”Rose screamed “Ross please, no it can’t be. It’s not true there has to be explanation”. Ross yelled back at the love of his life “It’s true! I love you, so I couldn’t tell you because we would have never been together” he cried. “Take him away” Venus shouted with pain in her heart, she had no choice “he has been sentenced to death by burning”. He was then carried away while Rose was crying and Judith was once again pulling her back.

Judith’s scream was heard across the chamber hall, three hours after Ross had been sentenced. Venus and Jasmine heard the scream and were shaken by it. Judith ran into the chamber to meet her sisters, immediately she got there she fell on the floor, Venus and Jasmine fell on their knees to find out what was wrong. “What is wrong Judith, stop crying” Venus said with fear in her eyes, “It’s Rose, she went to pay her last respects to Ross during his annihilation, she jumped into the fiery pit after him, she claimed she couldn’t live without him, our sister is DEAD!” Venus looked at her sisters in horror and stood up with her hands over her mouth, trying to fight back her tears.
